By studying these interactions, the impact the technology has on us humans and our society in general will be apparent.

To get a deep and sustainable understanding of AI and its relation with humans, it is not only relevant to study interactions between AI and humans, but also how the technology interacts with social structures and social institutions. By studying these interactions, the impact the technology has on us humans and our society in general will be apparent.

Project 1: AI in Education

In this research area researchers are currently working on different projects within this domain of humanistic AI, this includes a project focusing on how AI tools can have an impact on teaching and learning in an educational setting. In this project our researchers are mapping at what activity hierarchy levels will new practices using AI be able to expand the already existing practices. This mapping is done by doing literature reviews on the use of AI tools to improve both teaching and learning, by identifying and interviewing Danish ed.tech companies working with AI tools for education and by doing workshops with representatives from ed.tech partners and teachers. This is being done with a number of research questions in mind:

  • What are the current use practices of AI in educational settings?
  • Which tools are used, and what kind of services are available /in the learning platforms?
  • How are AI tools mediating the quality of education?
  • Which are the critical issues in AI in education?
