Helle Sofie Wentzer is a Senior Researcher at the Danish Institute for Local and Regional Government Research, KORA, and Ajunct professor in the Department of Communication and Psychology at Aalborg University. She is an empirical philosopher with a Masters degree in Philosophy and Media Anthropology and has a PhD in Information Sciences from Aarhus University. Her main research interests lie within organisational innovation of health care practices and patient care pathways, especially in relation to knowledge/information sharing as well as coordination and documentation pract-ices. She has a special interest in the role of digitalisation of interaction and communication, e.g. through studies of electronic patient records, computer medication order systems, telemedicine, internet platforms and social media as change agents. Her analytical focus is on implementation, empowerment, patient safety, quality of care, ethics, collaboration, learning and infrastructure. Her recent research activities include a case-study of teamwork in operation theatres; virtual home visits via video consultations; and limitations for patient involvement in clinical decision making.
