BES: Best practice in Expertise Sharing
The purpose of the research project is to investigate the state-of-art of expert directories used in knowledge organizations to describe, communicate and interact about expert knowledge. The study will study content, functionality, usage, practice and behavior in the use of expert finder systems.
Children's development of envy understanding and the ability to resolve interpersonal conflicts
The project is a cross-cultural project in collaboration with Professor Laura Quintanilla at UNED university, Madrid, Spain. We are comparing data from Danish, Spanish and Zapotec (Mexican) children.
Communication and interaction in the learning practice of the nursing profession (Kommunikation og interaktion i en sygeplejefaglig læringspraksis)
Dialogic coaching in management groups
Dialogical coaching in management groups is an action research project that is implemented in cooperation between the management of the senior citizen center in Ikast-Brande municipality, two consultants and two researchers. A comprehensive reorganization of the field of senior citizens places new demands on the management on all levels. The purpose of the project is to support the process of change through coaching of the management groups and at the same time to develop a dialogically based concept for coaching of management groups on a theoretical, analytical and methodical level.
Drop-out and retention in vocational education
The project is a result of a partnership between diverse universities and research institutions in Denmark. Within a four year period, the intention is to understand and explain processes of drop-out and retention among students in vocational education. The first quantitative results from the project show that schools differ in their actual dropout rates among pupils. This study has informed the ongoing qualitative studies which aim at uncovering the importance of the social and educational organization of the schools in relation to dropout and retention. Five PhD-students are part of the project, which is founded by a grant from the Danish Agency for Science, Technology and Innovation. Read more
The effect of individual music therapy on agitation and quality of life in persons with dementia. RCT and multiple cases.
In this project the impact of music therapy on quality of life for persons with dementia is investigated. Clinical music therapists in Denmark and Norway collect data from their daily practice, and contact staffs are interviewed about agitation and quality of life before and after 12 individual music therapy sessions. The results are compared to those of a control group that does not receive music therapy. Read more
Emotional Design and Communication
The consumer emotions play a vital role when a decision to buy is made. Consequently, it is important for the companies to be conscious of the emotions a product evokes in the consumers. Our researchers are aware of this and they want to share this knowledge with technicians, designers and communicators in Danish companies. The innovation network for marketing and consumer understanding is the tool for sharing and the purpose is to transform research on consumers and consumer behaviour into useful knowledge for companies. “MÆRKK” researchers are involved in the network through a.o. the sub-project ”Emotional Design and Communication”. imkf.dk/index.php/english/projects
E-PLOT: Persuasive Learning Object Technologies
Learning objects and technologies are currently limited in their adaptability and in how far they support active engagement from the learner. EuroPLOT will develop a pedagogical framework for active engagement, based on persuasive design, and to demonstrate its value by creating tools and exemplars of adaptable, reusable learning resources. c.aau.dk/plot.html

Geminoid-DK
Within recent years, we have witnessed a significant development in robotic enterprise. Robots are no longer reserved for tedious work at assembly lines and in agriculture, but rather, we see a number of robots designed specifically for social interaction with humans. A strong example of this is the so-called Geminoids or twin robots: Tele-operated androids designed to exactly resemble living human beings. Geminoid-DK is the first of its kind outside Japan and is used to investigate successful conditions for communication between humans and robots.
HANDS. Helping Autism HANDS Helping Autism-diagnosed teenagers Navigate and Develop Socially
HANDS is a project that aims to improve quality of life for teenagers with an autism diagnosis by providing a mobile ICT toolset supporting them in many daily situations. The HANDS toolset will help improving their social skills and self-management skills, thereby ensuring social integration and independence.
IKON - Inter regional cultural experience network (Interregionalt KulturOplevelses Netværk)
IKON is a new Nordic project consisting of the collaboration between 48 museums, universities, regions, and municipalities in North Jutland, western Sweden, and South Norway. The objective of the project is to develop new cultural experiences that will increase tourist numbers in the area. Read more
Inclusive psychology with focus on adults (e.g. Mindfulness as a pain management tool for women with endometriosis
Endometriosis is a chronic pelvic disease causing pain and derivative problems that may require more than medical intervention. This article advocates a mindfulness based approach focussing on pain management for this client group.
KIA - Creative Interaction in Worklife (Kreativ Interaktion i Arbejdslivet)
The project is a Scandinavian continuation of the northern Jutland project "Kreative Alliancer (creative alliances)", which linked businesses with artists, who can contribute with innovation and creativity in relation to solving specific challenges within the participating businesses. The objective of KIA is to develop methods for creating innovation alliances between artists and businesses and to measure the effect of these creative alliances. www.kia-innovation.eu

Mobile experience zones (MoOZ – Mobile OplevelsesZoner)
The purpose with the MoOZ project is to develop new concepts and digital content for the cell phone combined with gathering and developing knowledge on the matters. This will be facilitated by, for instance, testing and studying how users apply mobile services and digital content developed and implemented in the project process. On the basis of these experiences and observations, knowledge gathered from the project is generalized so that it may be viable to a future development of mobile services. Read more

An important new market for mobile experience products has opened up with iPhone and other smartphones. Today, the mobile phone can be used for providing access to a number of apps with experiences as focal point. It has become easier for small and medium-sized companies to launch their mobile applications and mobile experience products on the global market. It is a network, where companies and knowledge institutions that work on developing products, services and business models for mobile media, can share experiences and knowledge.
Music therapy and people with personality Disorders RCT pilot study
NASUD – Normal and Atypical Linguistic Development in Danish preschool and school children
Children, who are having difficulties in understanding and making themselves understandable when communicating with others, may suffer from specific language impairments (SLI). The children’s linguistic development is delayed for no apparent reason, such as hearing problems. Children, who suffer from SLI, are normally gifted and their problems are not due to bad social conditions or lack of linguistic stimulation. It is estimated that approx. 5-7 % of all day care and schoolchildren suffer from SLI. The research results from “NASUD” show that the children, who suffer from SLI, not only have linguistic difficulties, but also problems with memory and impression management. Without the proper help, these children will have difficulties in social contexts and in the educational system. They have a 40% higher risk than other children of developing conditions such as ADHD and autism. The research has also led to the development of Danish tests, which can identify children, who grow up with SLI.

ScandLE - Teaching problem based learning in virtual environments
ScandLe is financed by NordForsk (Nov. 2010 – October 2012). The focus of the network is self-regulated learning consisting of problem based learning (PBL) and virtual learning environments (VLE’s). The network has a dual focus: Empowerment of teachers and the integration of PBL practices in VLE’s and the research will focus on the critical aspects of teaching in these formal and informal technology enhanced learning settings.
Sound Branding
This project investigates how sound communication differs from communication by means of words or pictures, and how sound and music can be used in a strategic way in relation to product development, market communication and branding.

Teaching PBL in a Social Media Generation
