Guestlecture in Psychology: Learning at the Zoo? Evaluating the impacts of zoo visits on children’s understanding of animals and habitats

Time
Thursday 22. March 2012 at 10:00 - 12:00

This lecture presents findings from the largest (n=3018) and most methodologically robust investigation of the educational value of zoos for children ever conducted. The research evaluated the relative educational impact of educator-guided and unguided zoo visits at the London Zoo, both in terms of the development of new knowledge and perceptions of zoos, natural science and wildlife conservation.
